"Elise's Daughter in Gauguin's Garden"

I have many wonderful cousins.
As an only child, I spent all my summer vacations with them.
It was a time of wonder for me.
Elise is one of my Brittany cousins; we were born the same year,
a few months apart.
We both loved to draw.
We bore our first-born a few months apart.
I wanted to paint her daughter, Sandrine
I did it mostly from memory.
Now, Sandrine is an artist herself.

I have always been reluctant to paint an interior scene.
I took the challenge using a bit of imagination.
I am pleased with the result.
The colors are cheerful.
I would love to sit in that room
dreaming about the sea.
Two statues are conversing.
